Battery powered lawn and landscape equipment have taken the green industry by storm. Since it is the end of summer, we wanted to highlight the benefits of using battery powered equipment. Many major retailers are having sales on these items because of the season closing. There are several benefits to purchasing battery powered equipment. Theses range from saving on repair costs to noise reduction.

If you are considering making the switch from gas to battery, here are some reasons to do so.
One of better benefits of battery powered lawn equipment it that it is lighter and easier to use. These pieces of equipment are much lighter than their gas-powered counterparts. This makes them much safer which can be a benefit if you are elderly and have a hard time handling heavier items. Their lightness makes them easier and safer to handle. They are also cordless.

Using battery powered equipment can also decrease your carbon print. Because no gas is needed, no fumes are created from their use. A chemist from Stockholm concluded that using a gas-powered mower pollutes the air as much as driving 93 miles in a car. You will also feel better healthwise because you will not be breathing in those noxious fumes.  Battery powered landscape equipment will use less electricity because it is cordless.

Battery powered equipment requires less maintenance. Since they lack sparks plugs, fuel filters, oil, and gas. Not having to change these out will save you money on repair expenses. Battery powered equipment is also much quieter than gas powered equipment. Many cities have considered banning the usage of gas-powered equipment specifically for the noise that comes with them. If you are a homeowner, using battery powered equipment is a great way ensure a good relationship with your neighbors because of the quiet landscaping methods you use.

There are, however, some drawbacks to using battery powered equipment. Some models can only run an hour before they need to recharged. Battery powered mowers may also not handle thicker grass as well. Because of this, battery powered mowers may not be the best choice for those who have to mow larger areas. Battery powered landscape equipment is also more expensive than gas powered.
